I'm at the beginning of my career, therefore I'm looking forward to develop my current skills and acquire new ones. I've always been a quick learner and consider myself hard-working. When I receive a task, I want to live up to the demands of the task, hence being detailed and passionate about every step in the process - personal or professional.

HER

I designed and modeled HER for the practical part of my intermediate exam. I had the intention to make a character that is adapted for gaming, which is why she is retopologised and can be animated.

We were given complete freedom with our project, so I went a dystopian route.

She is a number in the system ...

Personal Projects | Ines Ben Frej

... in a world where technology turned into the biggest power of destruction.

A Virus caused a genetic defect in all humans, which impaired fertility.

It was for this reason that those women who were still able to reproduce, were oppressed and captured.

Their only purpose now is to be fertilized in a laboratory.

My character is one of these women that since their reproductive capacity has been established they are being exploited and used as “breeding machine” – but she doesn’t remember it.

For HER everyday life continued as usual, but from now on she experienced it through

VR glasses. Furthermore, these are connected to sensors and cables, which ensure that she is not aware of her real environment...

IDea

In all areas of public and everyday life women are fighting for equality and in spite of acquired rights, there are still areas where women are oppressed nonetheless.

Even in an economically and socially highly developed nation state, women are restricted in their freedom of action and regarded as an object of procreation or underestimated in their abilities and are constantly limited by their exterior.

I wanted to show the perspective of women, in a exaggerated way...

This project is also the result of personal concerns, based on unpleasant and imitate threatening situations in a woman's life.

Robo -dog

This 3D-Model was an assignment in my module for hard surface modeling. Again we were given full freedom with our concept but now had a time limit of 9h and the theme "Robotic Animal". Beacause of those restrictions I modeled this Robo-Dog completely from scratch, which helped me to develop a more efficient workflow by going through every step with more thought then before.

Going on with the cyber theme i now made a pill box with a self made label using photoshop.

Its my first attempt at doing a mockup and also at animating the path of camera and light.

This artwork was initially meant to be a bubble-gum machine ...

Airhead

... which then became an experimental project

I started out by cutting the head in half and filled it with eyeballs with a selfmade pupil texture that i once used for another project. Then I began to research how to do skin textures in blender, since I did not know how to use substance painter at that time.

This led me to try out procedual shaders. After that I also had many drafts where I made the head out of glass to pick up my initial idea. Though in the end I sticked with the skin texture. The LED stripes are the outline of the face, I placed them to show a flow effect and make the work more artistic.

Ultimately I was working on this project on the side and was solely the "guinea pig" among my main projects. Nonetheless it turned to one of my favorites.
